The last couple of days I did not feel as energised and happy as I usually do. I woke up tired, not really knowing how to start my day. I have been like that for a couple of days and then I realised, I didn't feel so well because I was procastinating. In stead of taking action, I was just following my thoughts. I remember from the time when I did a lot of sports, that one way to control this feeling is to do some type of fasting.

Fasting will take away the stress from your body as it is focussing your mind on discipline. You will experience more time in your day and it also gives a lot of energy as you are breaking through your normal patterns. I am a total fan of fasting as it's a simple and also cheap way to change your mindset. When I sported on a high level I fasted regularly. Now I do it as it pops my mind. It is good do do it on a regular base because you will get very disciplined and focussed.

Have you ever tried fasting? If you are new to fasting then it's best to start slow. Try to skip breakfast and lunch once a week. Then later you can try fasting 24 hours. There are different ways of fasting, you can fast by drinking juices, Ramadan is a type of fasting, but when I want to fast I choose for the cheapest way of fasting.

My way of fasting is by not eating for the time I choose not to eat. it can be 1 day, 24 hours, 48 hours or advanced. Drinking tea is allowed, and sometimes I take a bit of honey. When you are fasting regularly, it will not feel as such an effort as you are already used to see other people eating and it doesn't bother you. My mindset in fasting is: I choose to do this. This is how I succeed to fast for a long time.

De benefits of intermitted fasting:

  • Intermittent fasting can do more than help you lose weight

  • Fasting simplifies your life and reduces stress

  • Intermittent fasting is flexible and can be done anywhere

  • Fasting can also help keep cash in your wallet

  • You can improve your health and reduce your medication dependency with intermittent fasting

There are of course also side effects in fasting. The first day often is the hardest. Yesterday I was forgetting the most easy things, like the code of my payment pass. But fasting can also easily done when you have to work, I even prefer to do it when I am working, since I am distracted more then usually then. I run around and I don't have time to think of food and I even have more time to focus on my work which is a benefit!

After you have done your period of fasting start by eating light things as your body is not used to the stress that food makes in your body. I eat for example fruits like bananas or strawberries, combined with fatty things like avocado's. Then after the 1st small meal you can start eating normally again. Just follow the signals of your body. As you will feel energised!!! Your skin feels nice and your hair is shiny.

Fasting is not really a way of loosing weight, after you've done your period of fasting you will start to eat normally again. The benefits for your health and mindset are great.

So let me know, Do you have any experience in fasting? Did it help you achieve your goals, and make you feel stronger? Let's share some thoughts!

Hope to hear from you soon!
